Call me a public relations professional, a writer, a graphic designer, a Web designer, but most importantly, call me a communicator.
In my 11 years in the public relations industry, I have had the good fortune to work with many talented people. I have worked as an account executive at Harmon Smith Advertising, specializing in animal health public relations. I also worked as a public information officer for the City of Blue Springs, Missouri. Blue Springs is a lovely community located just east of Kansas City. I handled internal and external strategic communications. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about city government and public affairs.
Currently I am the Communications Coordinator for the University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I get to work with students, faculty and alumni on a daily basis. It’s exciting to be surrounded by creative young minds and seasoned communicators and journalists. The J-School, as we call it, is my alma mater too. We are a top ten school and have produced countless successful and distinguished graduates. I am proud to work for such an esteemed organization. Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk!
When I am not at work, I enjoy living in the wonderful community of Lawrence, Kansas…an oasis in the Midwest.
